If everyone in town sourced there goods and services from out of town - where would we be?  The town would collapse and go broke!

It is vitally important that you buy your goods and services from locals if the goods and services are available.  Buying locally means that your hard earned dollars stay in Narooma and help to employ local Narooma people.

There are large numbers of locals who travel to Batemans Bay each week to shop at the cheaper outlets, and while this might save them a few dollars right now, in the long run it's going to cost them because local services will disappear.  What has happened to the corner shop over the past 20 years?  Nearly all of them have closed, and that's a real shame because part of Australian history is gone forever all because people wanted to shop elsewhere. 

Do you want to know a secret?  You get what you pay for!  If you buy a DVD Player for $79 from a Grocery Store it's going to last for one week past the warranty date and be broken.  Quality cannot be purchased cheaply.

If you want to live and work in this town you have to support it by buying locally.  Try either of our two IGA Stores where the service is fantastic and the people are friendly.  Shop at Retravision or Beta Electrical for electrical appliances don't buy them at a Grocery Store or Harvey Normans in the Bay.

All the shops in town employ local people and they all pump money into our local economy.  If you take your money elsewhere you are depriving our town of its lifeblood.  Here's a thought - if you buy it out of town then a local misses out, but the local still has to make a living so they put the prices up - therefore you're to blame for the higher cost of living, buy shopping out of town you have driven local our prices up.

If you have just moved here from the city you'd better get used to higher prices.  Things cost more when you live in the country, but you chose to live here didn't you - now pay the price and support local businesses every chance you get.
